Grupo de Tratamiento de la Señal (GTS)

Descripción

The Signal Processing Group (GTS) is a member of the Instituto de Telecomunicación y Aplicaciones Multimedia (iTEAM) of the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV, Spain). It is involved in different aspects related to the theory and application of statistical signal processing. The main theoretical topics covered are optimal detection and classification, pattern recognition, independent component analysis, non-linear signal processing, higher-order statistics and time-frequency spectral analysis. Applications include non-destructive testing (ultrasonics and impact-echo methods), surveillance and monitoring (audio and infrared images), image and video processing, and biomedical signal processing (EEGs and ECGs) and signal processing with Passive Acoustic Monitoring for marine mammals detection and anthropogenic noise characterization.
The group activities are partially supported by research funds from PROMETEO Programme (Generalitat Valenciana)
