BioDavid Garcia-Roger was born in Valencia, Spain in 1978. He received the degree of Ingeniero de Telecomunicación (with honors) from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPVLC), Spain, in November 2001, and the Ph.D. degree in Telecomunicaciones (with cum laude) from the Departamento de Comunicaciones of the same institution, in March 2007. From September 2007 to April 2009 he was with the Departamento de Ingeniería Telemática of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Leganés, Spain, as Visiting Professor. From May 2009 to March 2011 he became a researcher at the Optical and Quantum Communications Group of the Instituto de Telecomunicaciones y Aplicaciones Multimedia (iTeAM), UPVLC, Spain. From September 2011 to June 2012 he was Innovation and Information Technologies Consultant at Equipo Humano, Valencia, Spain. Currently, from June 2012, he is a researcher at the Mobile Communications Group, iTeAM, UPVLC, Spain. Dr. Garcia-Roger has 25 publications including 5 papers in journals indexed in the Journal Citation Reports annual publication, and has been member of the ALPHA FP7 IP European Project as well as three European Network of Excellence and ten projects funded by the Spanish Government. He was the recepient of the 2007 Cátedra Telefónica Award, and the 2009 Consejo Social UPV Award, for the contributions of his Ph.D. Thesis to the academic fields of Informatics and Communications. His current research interests include IEEE 802.21 Media Independent Handover, and Layer 2 to Layer 1 Femto Application Platform Interface of the Small Cell Forum |
